Some Craft I Have Done Recently.

Here are some pics of some of the little crafts I have had time for in the last month or so.

Cupcake pin cushions...inspired by my Daughter Rheyanan who happens to love all things cupcake.

And this lovely little redwork for my Hubby at Valentines Day, He might think it a bit girlie but He will just have to look at it everyday when I put it in a frame and hang it near His side of the bed. Hehehe.

Moved in But....

Well we have moved in to our new home, but it will take a few weeks to get everything in its place I dare say.
The house is lovely, the kids are totally wrapped with the size of it...so is Wayne of course. We have 3 spare bedrooms can you believe it...well one is classed as a study and we don't have a spare single bed to put in it so it's being used for the ironing and folding room.
We do have a particular room that is known as Nana's room...she will have to come down to visit to see it in its entirety. I will put up some pictures of it another day.



the Sewing room/school room is just massive and I have yet to get everything put in an orderly place...we have had to start school work today in a bit of a mess but it will eventually get sorted out.
I am so desperate to do some sewing that I think I can't wait for the time that the room is ready for me to get into being creative.
I have had a few visitors, always love friends coming to visit (after lunch and the school work is done of course).

Well the Pods have started to arrive...number two is on it's way...and we will be packing them over the next 9 days...

Packing and desperate to sew.

Well if you take a look at the photo you can see just how many boxes are by our front door. we have packed a few but still have so many more to go. trouble is of course we have no idea if we have an extension or not...the owner has said we can have till the 26th of January, but that still leaves 8 days before we get the keys to the other house.

The house has been sold for removal...they have to have the house taken off the block by the end of February so the power has to be removed from the house 20 days prior to that.

the people who will be doing the removal and technically own the house have said they are fine with us staying in the house till the 4th of Feb, if we don't mind having no power...we are hoping this can happen because it will save us a fortune in storage and motels.

So in the meantime we are half packed and I am itching to get some sewing done.

I really want to make a jeans bag...I have noticed some of the ladies in the Craft group are very good at it, and some want to make them too, so I hope we all have some fun sewing these up.

I also have some new fabrics added to my stash, while in Adelaide I got a couple of fat Q's from spotlight...but when I got home, Mum and I went to Bargain Box and we got a lot more. she is going to send me cash and tell me to go and get her a particular colour to post up to her, she loves BB so much.

well I have a busy few weeks coming up so I better take advantage of any quiet time I get to sew. I am not totally packing up my sewing stuff till we have the keys and I can just pack it up and move it straight away.

will keep you all posted on the moving front and the sewing front also.

Well we are back in Ipswich after our trip to Adelaide...we met up with Khristina and Mardi and had a very lovely afternoon tea. sadly we did not get to meet Naomi...maybe next time...unfortunately we only got to catch up the once over the five days we were there. but it was for a few hours so we got to talk a lot. we had to keep Lyndel out of her house till 6:45pm so her family could set everything up for the "Surprise Party"...she was tired while we were at Khristina's and at around quarter past six she said we better make tracks and head home...argh I panicked and sent a message to her hubby to get him to call and stall her...so eventually they called her and asked her to stop off at the bottle shop for this and that...

we did manage to keep her out for the right amount of time...

so thanks heaps Khris for your help in keeping her out...

She was very surprised, because Her birthday was the day before and I guess she thought that if there was a surprise it would be then. we had a very nice evening with a few of her friends.

we had a great time in Adelaide as usual, we managed to go to Spotlight and get some of the DMC and Anchor threads while they were on special...got 6 quilting and craft magazines also.

we visited Bargain Box here in Ipswich this morning and managed to get some great fabrics...they are always going to be my first port of call from now on...spotlight just did not have what I wanted.

Back to Basics

well the new year has started and it feels good already.

It could just be a matter of perspective and how I am looking at things, but I think this is going to be an exciting year.

I have heard a few different opinions about what this year could bring and how we all will cope with it, I must say that it all truly does depend on your perspective and whether your glass is half full or half empty...

My year started the same place that last year finished off...with us packing in preparation to move...

I have a feeling that this year could bring some very exciting stuff for many of us, it will no doubt hold heartache as well...My Dad is doing really well at present, but it is the best He is going to be. it will go slowly downhill from here...indeed He needs a miracle...stranger things have happened though.

I feel with this new year some of us need to get back to basics, in our homes, in our relationships and even in our jobs.

Sometimes it seems as though the world is going so fast that my head spins, life can get like that.

Getting back to basics within the home is simply taking back your family time, this could include learning to cook again for those that spend too much time letting take out places do the cooking for us or taking something out of the freezer to put straight in the microwave. there is nothing more fun that to cook a meal together with the kids helping out. I might add that only 2 of our kids live at home and the eldest at home is nearly 18, so it might not be as much fun as the younger ones, but still fun none the less.

Many people are discovering the joy of being a Homemaker and Mother, I know that in this day and age there is a demand for Mums to work full time jobs also just to make ends meet. I am truly blessed to not have to do that. the joy some young Mums are finding in learning to sew for family and pleasure is amazing. I hope many more find this a joyful way of life.

Back to basics in relationships is simple too, manners. what an amazingly different world it was when we had manners and cared for fellow man. it is my hope that this year I will learn to be more tolerant and find better manners when it comes to all relationships, be it the person next door or the butcher, baker or candlestick maker. I hope to treat all manner of people with more love than I could imagine. in doing this I know I make my world a better place.

The same can be said for Back to basics at work for those that do. I have noticed with my Daughters' fellow workers and indeed many others, the attitudes towards their boss or fellow workers is sometimes negative. Any hope of changing this can only come from how we treat each other. a case in point...at a recent social gathering of workers my daughter witnessed her fellow workers slanging off the boss (speaking very negatively). this kind of thing is not productive and I have tought her to be more aware of other people and their feelings. yes her boss may be silly at times or mean but the workers do not have to make the work environment a hard and negative place for all by speaking out of turn. It is a choice really. We try to teach our kids that if you don't have something nice to say then don't say anything at all.

Well this has become a bit of a novel but I really feel sometimes we need reminders of how we should act toward one another.

I pray your year will be exciting, and the challenges you face will be met with courage.
